A major channel of drug trafficking has been blocked in the Moscow region. The organizer of wholesale shipments of heroine has been arrested. The police withdrew 8.5 kilos of heroine guised as common carrots. The police of the Ramensky district of the Moscow region paid attention to a family of gypsies several months ago.

A brief investigation revealed that the family was dealing with drug trafficking business. The police found the gang leader, his close associates and a whole network of small drug dealers - all of them being ethnic gypsies. The criminal group had ties in several areas of the Moscow region and in Moscow itself. The gang leader, a gypsy man, would receive a batch of heroine - up to 10 kilos - once a week. Tajik peasants would make the heroine look like carrots. It transpired in the beginning of March that the gang was expecting a large batch of heroine from Afghanistan. The gang leader and his associates were arrested as a result of a special operation. The police found 85 packs of heroine in the man's house.   .
